Ford Announced Collaboration with ULTRA4 and Becomes Official Vehicle for King of The Hammers

Ford has recently announced they will be the official vehicle for King of The Hammers and ULTRA4 extreme off-road racing series. As Ford continues to grow and develop its rugged off-road vehicle lineup, they continue to prove how tough and capable Ford vehicles truly are. The King of The Hammers race is set to take place on February 8th with more than 450 teams from around the world.

“Working with ULTRA4 Racing and King of the Hammers is a natural for Ford based on our truck, SUV and off-road heritage,” said Mark Rushbrook, global director, Ford Performance Motorsports. “Our participation in King of the Hammers builds on our rich history of off-roading by continuing to deliver on Built Ford Tough in the most demanding conditions.”

Ford has estimated sales of rugged trucks and utility vehicles to have grown at twice the rate of the overall SUV segment. In fact, rugged SUVs serve as nearly 25 percent of the current overall SUV segment. Just ten years ago, rugged SUVs only accounted for about 12 percent of the overall SUV segment.

Ford’s current rugged lineup includes the F-150 Raptor, the Super Duty Tremor, and the highly-anticipated, all-new Bronco set to debut this spring. Ford is also expected to debut another upcoming small SUV geared towards the rugged, off-roading segment.

King of The Hammers involves high-speed desert racing as well as low-speed rock crawling in Johnson Valley, California, truly testing the grit of off-roading vehicles. The race attracts approximately 75,000 spectators with over 1 million viewers following the race online.

“Our racers and spectators are as authentic and passionate as they come,” said Dave Cole, president, Hammerking Productions/ULTRA4 Racing. “Our dedicated staff, loyal fans and fearless racers have helped build this motorsport and lifestyle platform for more than a decade, and we couldn’t be more excited to get the 2020 racing season started with Ford as our official vehicle partner.”

In addition to collaborating with ULTRA4, Ford also announced its collaboration with the SCORE, serving as the official truck and SUV for events such as the Baja 500, Baja 1000 and San Felipe 250 championships in Mexico.
